Description
This necklace, made out of really unusually shaped pieces of Mother of Pearl shell is really different, I have never seen another one like it. Each section of shell is hung in graduated size and each piece is separated by a small carved bone bead. Those beads also go to the back of the necklace , with a hook and chain, with tiny pieces of shell along it, so you can vary the length. The shell is very glossy and has all sorts of colours in it up close. It could easily come from the 1940’s as the kind of thing brought back for loved ones from trips to exotic countries. A great Summer necklace! The overall length is 19″ (48 cms) but it can be shortened by 2″ (5cms) with the hook and chain.
