The 1950’s was an era of post-war glamour when costume jewellery really came into it’s own with a rush to put the war years behind them, designers used a lot of nature’s designs with a goldtone finish. This necklace is signed by Kramer and the company was founded in New York City at the height of World War II, Kramer Jewelry Creations produced intricate and artistic pieces out of gilt metal, rhinestones, glass, and enamel. Louis Kramer started the company in 1943. this necklace is typical of his designs and is in amazing condition for it’s age, looking like new, so a collectable piece as well as being lovely to wear. The necklace is 16″ (41cms) in length, but could be fitted with an extender if required. It would look fabulous over a dark coloured jumper or worn with a pretty dress. The height of post war glamour and it is the only one, so if you love it, buy it soon.
